Conversations For the Common Good: Combating Child Trafficking and Exploitation

  • The Bier Abbey 613 Union St Schenectady, NY, 12305 United States (map)

In a world that is so often divided by political lines,  personal interests, and religious beliefs we often lose sight of the common good that we can pursue together. “Common Good” is anything that increases the well-being for all people without harming others. Join us for a series of discussions about various topics that promote the common good.

Each event will go from 7-9pm and will take place at the Bier Abbey (613 Union St.).

Though slavery was outlawed in every country in 1981, slavery still exists because there are still slave masters and traders. Being underground, it is difficult to know an exact number, but in 2012 the International Labor Organization estimated that there are 20.9 million enslaved today.

Join Heather Fischer leader of the Love 146 Capital Region Task Force, as she leads a discussion about what trafficking and exploitation looks like globally and domestically, and some ways that you can join the battle in our own community and beyond.
